Your data stays on your device
What happens to your data
- Your browser does all the work. The page sends your settings and your counts to no server.
- The page has no ads, no account and no cookies.
- The page saves your settings in this browser only (the key is pomodoro-timer:settings:v1). It saves your times, your choices and the volume.
- The page also saves the count of your focus sessions for today in this browser only (the key is pomodoro-timer:stats:v1). The count goes back to 0 on a new day.
- To remove what the page saved, clear the site data of this page in your browser.
- If the page has an error, it sends an error report to the server. The report has no settings, no counts and no personal data.
How the timer works
Code in your browser keeps the time. It reads the clock of your device. The bell is a sound that your browser makes. The page loads no audio file.
A notification is optional. The page asks your browser for permission only when you turn the notification on. Your browser shows the message. The page uses no push server.
Who hosts this page
Cloudflare hosts this page. Like any web host, it sees your IP address and the page you ask for. It keeps technical request logs, with no IP address, for 7 days. Cloudflare also counts visits to the page with Cloudflare Web Analytics. For about 1 in 10 requests, it records the browser and operating system, the language, the network and an approximate location. It works these out from your connection.
